Pantone Radiant Orchid Already Making Waves

On December 5th, Pantone announced Radiant Orchid as the 2014 Color of the Year! Sparking the imagination, Radiant Orchid encourages creativity and originality.

The color is already making waves in fashion. Deep Radiant Orchid undertones produce a healthy glow and dazzle in dresses, like this one from Oscar De La Renta.

The color also appeared on the Spring 2014 runways in accent pieces like these gorgeous Cavalli pumps.

In terms of cosmetics, purple can be a flattering hue for hair and skin tones. Paired with other pinks and lavenders, Radiant Orchid is expected to bring energy to new lines of lipstick, blush & nail polish.

Interior design will also see a shift with additions of Radiant Orchid to its palette soon. Accents with purple undertones, including paint colors and room accessories, will give warmth and pop to interior space.

Radiant Orchid has also made its way into tabletop décor! While colors like purple and pink have historically been popular for Bat Mitvahs, now shades of purple are popping up in weddings and even corporate events.  We have always enjoyed mixing shades of purple from pale lavenders to deep eggplants with linens like our Plum Majestic.

But in 2014, purple is going to explode with life and energy in new and exciting ways!

Taking note of the past few years when neons were trending on the runway, often coupled with neutrals, vibrant purples will now be seen with metallic as well as organic hues. Palettes of silver and purple are regal, elegant and oh so sophisticated.

Partner purple with burlap and camel toned linens, and suddenly you discover a new twist on shabby chic. Regal earthly delights!

And, in case you have not noticed, check out the Mosaic logo. Purple has always been a company favorite!
